About this place
Dalmajibong Park covers some 46,000㎡ atop a rocky hill rising straight from the bank of the Han River in Geumho-dong, Seongdong-gu, and has been named by the Seoul city government as one of its finest scenic viewpoints. Its name comes from an old lunar custom in which residents climbed the hill on the first full moon of the year to greet the moon and make wishes — dalmaji means moon-greeting, bong means peak. From the summit the river's bridges line up in sequence, from Ttukseom across Seongsu, Dongho and Hannam bridges; few places in the city let you look down on the Han from this close. By day the skyline including Lotte World Tower fills the view, and after sunset the lit bridges become the park's signature scene. It is a five-minute walk from Exit 4 of Oksu Station (Line 3 and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line).
