About this place

Jamsu Bridge is the lower deck of Banpo Bridge, a submersible crossing completed in 1979 that links Banpo-dong in Seocho-gu with Seobinggo-dong in Yongsan-gu across the Han River. At 795 meters long, the bridge sits just above the waterline and submerges during heavy rainfall, so the river's water level can be read from it at a glance. Its river-level vantage point gives open views of the Han River, and at night the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain can be seen from below. On Sundays in spring and autumn, the bridge hosts the Car-Free Jamsu Bridge Festival, drawing visitors for flea markets, street performances, and hands-on programmes.
