About this place

Mullae Creative Village grew organically from the early 2000s when artists began flocking to the ironwork district of Mullae-dong 3-ga, drawn by affordable rents and the freedom to work loudly without disturbing neighbors. Around 1,000 ironworks still operate here, their metalworking sounds weaving through more than 100 active artist studios and galleries scattered across the same alleyways. Graffiti murals, steel sculptures, cafes and eateries fill the gaps between working factories. Time Out ranked it sixth in its 2025 list of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
