About this place

Euljiro is a major east-west avenue through central Jung-gu that has served as a commercial artery since the Joseon Dynasty, densely populated through the 1960s and 70s with printing houses, ironwork workshops, and lighting shops. In recent years the blocks around Euljiro 3-ga and 4-ga stations have seen independent cafes, wine bars, and creative restaurants open alongside the decades-old hardware stores, earning the area the nickname "Hipjiro." Sewoon Plaza, a mixed-use complex, anchors the district and now hosts design studios and artists' workshops. By night, Nogari Alley fills with outdoor tables where locals and tourists share cold beer and grilled dried pollack.
