About this place

HiKR Ground is the Korea Tourism Organization's tourism promotion centre, opened in July 2022 inside its Seoul Center building beside the Cheonggyecheon stream. The name carries the idea that Korea (KR) says "Hi" to travellers from everywhere and turns itself into their playground, and the whole place is pitched at introducing Korean travel in a form younger visitors will actually enjoy. The first floor holds the large HiKR Wall media screen, showing media artist Lee Lee-nam's "Landscape of the New City" alongside travel videos sent in by hallyu fans around the world. On the second floor, K-pop Ground lets visitors shoot their own music video in an XR live studio, and installation artist Suh Do-ho's work "North Wall" hangs at the window looking out over the restored stream. The third floor, HiKR Street, shows contemporary art and cultural content built with AI, AR and XR, while Local Ground on the fourth runs changing exhibitions on regional tourism. The fifth floor is a lounge with a terrace over the Cheonggyecheon and a tourist information centre.
