About this place

Hongdae is one of Seoul's best-known youth culture districts, shaped by Hongik University and its art and design schools. The streets around Eoulmadang-ro are lined with independent cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, while the murals of Picasso Street and weekend flea markets reflect the area's creative spirit. From the evening onward, street performers and live music fill the walkways, and the club district draws crowds late into the night on weekends. The adjacent Yeonnam-dong neighborhood and Gyeongui Line Forest Path offer a quieter, tree-lined extension of the area.
