About this place

The National Museum of Korea in Yongsan houses some 420,000 artifacts, including about 60 national treasures and about 80 treasures, spanning from the Paleolithic era to the Joseon Dynasty. Its landmark "Room of Contemplation," opened in 2021, presents two iconic gilt-bronze Seated Bodhisattva statues in a meditative, immersive setting. The expansive outdoor grounds display large stone pagodas, lanterns, and sculptures too monumental to exhibit indoors.
