About this place

Nestled between the southern slopes of Namsan Mountain and the Han River, Hannam-dong is a neighborhood where luxury residences, embassy compounds, and restaurants from around the world coexist. The sloping alleyways are lined with art galleries—including the Leeum Museum of Art—alongside flagship stores for Korean and international designers. The neighborhood's hillside vantage points look out over the Han River, while embassy-district zoning has kept the area from overdevelopment despite its proximity to trendy Itaewon.
