About this place
The War Memorial of Korea, opened in 1994 on the former site of Army Headquarters in Yongsan, is a war history museum that stands as a solemn tribute to those who gave their lives in defence of the country. Indoor exhibition halls — including the War History Hall, Korean War Hall, Overseas Dispatch Hall and Large Equipment Hall — display approximately 10,000 artefacts from a collection of over 33,000 items, while the sprawling outdoor exhibition area showcases tanks, fighter jets, and artillery from the Korean War and beyond. Immersive experiences such as the Incheon Landing 4D Theater bring history to life for all ages. The museum is a five-minute walk from Samgakji Station (Metro lines 4 and 6, Exit 12).
